Presentation themes: fulldome; educational advances in planetariums
How do we make our programming accessible and comprehensible to the wide range of visitors who visit our planetariums? How do we identify potential misunderstandings or miscomprehensions before we record a script and finalize a production? At the California Academy of Sciences, we routinely preview work in progress with our audiences, surveying visitors to discover how they make sense of the words and images we present in the planetarium. This talk will review visitor feedback used to inform our most recent production, »Spark: The Universe in Us.« Including an immersive Periodic Table and traveling back in time!
