Meeting High Expectations in the Dome: The Aesthetics of Planetarium Visuals

During my presentation, I will emphasize the importance of producing visually appealing and captivating shows in planetariums. Viewers come to planetariums with high expectations, often shaped by the high-quality visuals they have seen in blockbuster movies, games, and animations. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that planetarium visuals meet these expectations. Despite the technological and budget limitations that planetariums face, I will argue that it is still possible to create aesthetically pleasing visuals that can engage viewers. Furthermore, I believe that this is achievable not only for leading fulldome production studios but for all planetariums with careful attention to visual design and aesthetics.
